Commitment & Actions

Racquetball BC believes that everyone in the sport has the right to enjoy the sport at whatever level or position they participate. Athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers have the right to participate in a safe and inclusive training and competitive environment that is free of abuse, harassment or discrimination.

As a designated Affiliate of ViaSport and a Provincial Member of Racquetball Canada, we have a number of resources available that assist participants and our clubs in addressing complaints and preventing all forms of disputes and maltreatment.

Racquetball BC is committed to a Safe Sport Framework that is led by PREVENTION, enhanced by EDUCATION and has a REPORTING process.

Our Safe Sport Framework is supported by a strong set of policies and guidelines. In addition:

Universal Codes of Conduct

Racquetball BC has adopted both the British Columbia Universal Code of Conduct (BC-UCC) and the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS). The UCCMS is a result of an extensive consultation process that sought insight and expertise from within the sport system and from external experts. The BCUCC adds on to the UCCMS with further information about accepted behaviours and boundary transgression.

All those who become members of Racquetball BC are asked to acknowledge and to agree to follow the BC Universal Code of Conduct and the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport as well as Racquetball BC’s policies.
