The 2024 BC Open was a spectacular showcase of skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Held at the Roster’s Sports Bar & Grill, this tournament brought together players, both old and new, from various backgrounds, skill levels, and provinces.
The BC Open not only highlighted the competitive aspect of racquetball but also emphasized community spirit. The camaraderie among participantsβwhether seasoned players or newcomersβwas heartwarming, exemplifying the welcoming nature of the racquetball community. Thanks again to Bob Wolf, who worked tirelessly to make the tournament happen, to all the players, referees, coaches and volunteers.

One of the most inspiring aspects of the BC Open was the emergence of young talent in the junior divisions. Young athletes showcased impressive skills and a competitive spirit, indicating a bright future for the sport in BC. Their enthusiasm and dedication were infectious, captivating audiences and fostering a sense of community among players and fans alike. Thank you to all the Juniors, parents and coaches.

Men’s Doubles
The doubles competitions added a unique dynamic to the tournament. In the Co-Ed Open doubles final, David Serra and Ken Storozuk showcased exceptional teamwork, displaying seamless communication and strategic plays. They faced Anthony Schonberger and Bruce Robinson in an electrifying match that had the crowd at the edge of their seats. Serra and Storozuk emerged victorious, their teamwork proving crucial in clinching the title.

Jeff Swartz and Emilio Gonzalez showcased exceptional teamwork and communication, defeating Hugh Rose and Mike Smith in a closely contested final. Their ability to anticipate each other’s moves and execute powerful shots made for an exhilarating match.
